'Learning to Lead' is a project the whole school is working on. It means giving the children more responsibility over their school and classrooms. It enables them to learn more about themselves and about what they can do to improve their environment.
In Key Stage 1 the children work as a whole class to identify things in their classroom they would like to improve. They then work together to achieve these changes.
In Key Stage 2 we have 'Community Classrooms'. This means the children then create groups to make these changes happen.
Some of the projects we have done so far include: sponsored cycle ride to raise money for a charity; getting class pets; painting the outside of classrooms; writing a school newspaper.
The children are able to make a real difference to their school and learn many new skills as well as developing their self-confidence and co-operation skills.
