Celebrations

On Friday mornings we usually have a 'Show and Share' Assembly where we celebrate the achievements of everyone around the school. Parents and carers are encouraged to join us in these celebrations to show the children how much we all care about their achievements.

Each week a different class shows some of the work they have been doing recently. The children usually help decide what they are going to say and show. It could be anything from showing art work, reading poems, singing songs, explaining maths problems or showing slide shows from school trips. Each week is completely different!

Then each teacher awards two pupils from their class a 'Pupil of the Week' certificate for some outstanding work or behaviour. The parents or carers of children receiving the certificates are phoned to make sure they can be there to see their children being awarded.

Mr Braund also chooses one child a week to receive the Head Teacher Award to recognise exceptional achievements.

We also award the House Cup to the one of our four houses for collecting the most house points. The four houses are: Quantock (green), Mendip (blue), Blackdown (red) or Brendon (yellow).

Special achievements are celebrated too as we ask any children who have accomplished something special outside of school to share their achievements with us.
